My Safari specifies a 25-gallon gas tank and once on a family trip, with no fuel gauge, I pumped 25 gallons of gasoline into it. I knew I was close to empty, so the only surprise was just how  close to 25 gallons I came.

I was right behind you on a trip towing my camper once. I pumped 24.6 gallons into my Sierra's 25 gallon tank. I almost tried for the next exit too. Luckily my buddy talked me out of that.

Closest I’ve ever come is filling 44.7L into my 45L tank. :P

I don’t let it come anywhere near that close most of the time though....lol

I have gone at least 30 miles after zero in three different Toyotas in the last five years and then been surprised when I put in....much less than the full tank capacity. Meanwhile, in my Mercedeses....get down to 1 and you better believe you’re filling right up to the reserve. C63 gas mileage makes this game a bit risker than the RAV4, I suppose.

How much gas did it take relative to it’s rated tank capacity? When I put gas in the Corolla with single digits left on the range it only takes 10.5 gallons to fill the supposedly 13.2 gallon tank.

I think it’s a 12 g tank and I put in 11.2 g. i stopped on the first stop, I didn’t try again.

My math tells me that either my Corolla doesn’t have a 13.2 gallon tank like the manual says it does or I can do almost 100 miles with the gas light on. 0 on the range gets me a 10.5 gallon fill up.

I once set out for home after working at a job site. I had forgotten after getting out of that town (Sycamore IL going west) there was no gas for a long ways. I’m pretty sure I was at least 10 miles from gas after the distance to empty read 0. Oh and it was winter. I was pretty damn nervous but I made it.

I think it was done before I got it. It doesn’t seem as bad when I use the manual shift mode. Every once in a while it will chatter but for the majority of the time it  i s ok

Got a letter a few months ago from Ford that they would replace ours and the car is finally smooth.

It was free.  2014 focus 57,000mi. Super recommend it.
